11 FAMOUS STREET FOOD OF INDIA

India is a land of 29 states, which makes it the richest country of different cultures, cuisines, languages, clothes and so more, But being a traveler and more than that a big foodie today I am going to discuss some famous snacks from all over the India.

Put some interesting and spicy comments on this article which makes this article more informative among other people.

Lakhanpur de Bhalle:  Very famous junk food from the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Lakhanpur is the entry point of Jammu Kashmir, where this delicious dish has been prepared. This recipe is very easy, made by pulses and served by radish and green chutneys.

Chhole Bhature from Punjab: The famous breakfast among Punjabi families, which available in different varieties like simple bhatoora, aloo bhatura, paneer/cheese bhautra. These are served with chick peas which are cooked in the gravy of onions, tomatoes. The other famous dish which belongs to this cuisine is kulcha(a type of Indian bread), which also served with same chickpeas.

Litti Chokha from Bihar: One of our most neglecting state, which is almost famous for only lalu prasad Yadav, but no one believes this traditional cuisine gets an international reputation. This is a traditional dish of Bihar, which can be served in any meal of the day means you can have it for your breakfast, dinner or lunch. It is made of sattu, brinjal or potato.

Poha – Jalebi from Madhya Pradesh: Everyone eats poha and jalebi separately, but do you know poha-jalebi together is famous breakfast dish from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The spicy taste of poha and sweetest of jalebi, really a mouth watering experience of life. In this soft poha topped with the crunchy sev and crispy jalebi.

Kachori from Rajasthan: When I start to write about famous snack from Rajasthan, I really get confuse what title I give to this state because if we only talk about the kachoris then there are almost 10 types of  kachories like matar ki kachori, Rajasthani Vatana Kachori, Green Peas kachori, Bikaner kachori, Pyaz ki kachori, chana dal ki kachori, Dal Kachori, Shahi Raj- kachori. Do you really need any other reason to visit Rajasthan and taste all those by yourself?

Vada Pao from ‘Aamchi Mumbai’: We are talking about India, then how we can forget about Aamchi Mumbai, and its famous snack Vada Pao. The simple and cheapest snack of the Mumbai made up of deep fried mashed potato patties with some garlic, ginger, and spices. It was saying that this was the food for mill workers, but its delicious taste makes it so much popular that it is available in every street of the Bombay.

Dabeli from Gujrat: Gujrat, from where our respected Prime Minister belongs Mr. Narendra Modi, As he famous among the India for his pleasant personality, dabeli is known for its awesome taste.Basically, this dish belongs to kutch. This is made by the pav, masala, and potatoes and then it gets pressed. Dabeli means ‘’pressed’’ in Gujarati.

Tunde Kabab from Awadh: As we heard the word kabab, the first city name comes in our mind in Lakhnow, but today I am going to discuss a special type of kababs that is Tundey Kabab. This is a part of Awadhi Cuisine, and have a really interesting story behind it. One of the Nawab, who really love kababs, but as he gets older he lost is teeth, so he declares a contest that whoever created the softest kababs, will enjoy royal patronage for whole life. Haji Murad Ali, was the person who has a hand disability, wins this contest and hence its called tundey kabab. Although, there are so many recipes in Uttar Pradesh but I choose this to understand the reason of its name. Kodbole from Karnataka: Recently, I got a chance to live in Bangalore, Karnataka. although we can say that culture is going down there as we recently heard what happened on new year eve, which is really a big shame for India, but still its cuisine does not lose its taste till now. Kodubole is a traditional snack of karnatka. It is made up of maida flour, butter, fresh coconut, groundnuts and roasted grams. This is served with a hot cup of coffee or tea.

Jhal-Muri from West Bengal: One of the famous and iconic snack foods of West Bengal is jhal-muri. Basically, jhal means 'hot' or 'spicy' and muÅ—i is puffed rice. It is made up with spices, vegetables, and raw mustard oil. The most common Jhal-Muri is a bhôrta made of chopped shallot, roasted cumin seeds, black salt, lôngka / morich chilis, mustard oil, fresh coriander leaves, and mudhi.

Punugulu from Andhra Pradesh: A rainy day, and you are having a cup of coffee or tea, then Punugulu is the best snack if you are in Andhra Pradesh. This is prepared by idli batter and deep fried till golden brown.It is served with coconut ginger chutney. 
Among these, Golgappas, momos, pav bhaji, samosa, dosa, idli, are the mouth watering dishes which you found in any street of the india., But if you are really a foodie and look for real taste then you must visit the specific place for authenticating tastes.

  1. very well well said,Indian food is always very relishing and it is full of spices and herbs.whenever i come to india I always prefer to have street food. I always love to try out various food joints in the city.Recently i have discoverd some places to eat in amritsar.My experience was outstanding and I enjoyed my food.
